SESSIONS

HOW TO MANAGE AND DRIVE CULTURE CHANGE

Speaker: Dr Jaclyn Lee - Singapore University Of Technology and Design

In today’s dynamic and challenging work environments, compliance, ethics and values form the firm foundation of a good corporate culture that can drive change.

This firm foundation is also needed to ensure that  key stakeholders in an organisation carry out their business with high integrity, honesty as well as transparency in everyday transactions.

Promoting and developing such a culture takes time, and HR plays a key role in being a change agent and custodian of such change.

In this sharing, Dr Jaclyn Lee will talk about culture change using digital tools and Action Design Methodology.  She will demonstrate how SUTD develops such a culture of integrity through the use of such tools.

HR the lynchpin between corporate and compliance cultures

Speaker: David Youngson, The Red Flag Group

A company is a group of people with common values working together towards a same mission.  An Ethics and compliance program needs the support of a strong compliance culture to really be as effective as possible to protect the organization by reinforcing one of its lines of detection and defense: its employees. This culture has to be valued and embraced by its employees. The HR function is key to facilitating this.

Some key questions that will be discussed:

•    How has the HR function’s expectations changed in light of recent compliance scandals?
•    What specific contributions can the HR function make to an ethics and compliance program’s effectiveness?
•    What metrics are available to measure the HR function contribution to the ethics and compliance program’s effectiveness?
•    What hurdles is the HR function facing currently?
•    What tools are at the disposal of the HR function? What are their weaknesses? What alternative more effective options are there?
